Vice President Denise (N4WGK) called the meeting to order at 1935 CDT, January 11, 2006. This year’s Christmas Party, January 6, 2006, was held again at Cedar Ridge. The number of paying guests was 38. All in attendance agreed that the service this year was much better than last year, and the food was excellent. Discussion about having next year’s party at Cedar Ridge vs. another location was tabled because of the small number of attendees at this meeting. John volunteered to call Cedar Ridge and see if this year’s minimum guarantee of 40 attendees is cast in stone. Those in attendance agreed next year’s party could be either January 5 or January 12, 2007.
Club dues for 2006 are now overdue. Dick indicated that 13 Mancorad members from 2005 have not yet renewed for 2006. This week Friday is cutoff to be listed in the 2006 club roster.

Those interested in doing technical monthly meeting presentations are encouraged to step forward; contact Denise. Carl (KA9WYK) gave the suggestion that DX’ing (how to do it) and advancing from Technician to General license class skills may be of interest. John then volunteered himself and Fred to do a DX’ing technical talk. It was suggested that a presentation about how to successfully get on HF as a new General licensee could be a separate topic.
Dick reported on the cost of making a Mancorad Silent Key plaque; that cost is $60.00 through Manitowoc Trophy. Ken (K9HAG) moved, John seconded, and it was voted upon to proceed. A preliminary list of SK’s is being reviewed by senior club members for completeness.
