All ManCoRad members are invited ~ On February 20th for a NIM IS-700 training session.
This is an introduction to the National Incident Management System affecting every emergency response organization.
Without this training, Manitowoc county may not be qualified for Department of Homeland Security grant money.
So this is very important.
Carl ( KA9WYK ) gave a report from the W.A.R frequency coordinator on the repeater project.
John ( NZ9Z ) sent an e-mail to the coordinator with our intent regarding repeater pair – issues such as nuclear drill and passing traffic, told coordinator that we have a back up repeater on 61 that can be switched on in case repeater goes down. Our intent is to convert this repeater into an independent new repeater operating in Manitowoc County on its own frequency pair. So progress is in the works.
Travis ( KB9YRC ) mentioned that repeater coordinator offered for Free, a new firmware that he designed for the
G7 controller in our existing 146.610 repeater which would allow to dial up the 9 (to bring up and dial an outside line.) The county conversion to Centrex telephone operation malfunctioned our auto patch. The new firmware goes around this problem. This is something that we will look into as a possibility in regards to upgrading.
