Vice President Travis ( KB9YRC ) called the meeting to order at 7:33 P.M.

Vice President Travis ( KB9YRC ) announced that we have another application for club membership.

Hub Gerend (W9OUT ). Who was a past ManCoRad member and returned back to the area to re-join.

Motion to accept Hub into club was from Fred ( W6BSF ) and Second by Dan (N9NCU)

A Big warm welcome back to Hub ( W9OUT )

Vice President Travis ( KB9YRC ) informed the members that sign up sheets were being passed around for a number of activities.

    • A need for a group to work on the closets in the back of the room ( design, organize and build ) shelving, etc.
    • Club clean up for either week night’s / weekend.
    • Roadside clean up ( Tuesday September 4th ) Meet at Two Creeks Town Shop at 6:30 PM
    • Anyone interested in helping should contact Dick ( N9QFY ) Sign up also on website….
    • An Anderson Power pole get together ( A new standard in connecting radio equipment )
      • Bring clubs gear up to date.
      • Club members to up-grade their own equipment’s connectors.

Dan (N9NCU) gave a demonstration on the Anderson Power Pole - passed around the connectors / tool for crimping the wires and the RIGrunner 4005 panel.

The purpose for this is a means of quickly changing one radio for another into power supply / battery or for

(Cigarette Lighter) use in vehicles.  These poles will also provide interchangeability for members rigs to club power supplies ( should there be a need to use members rigs. )

The club will provide the power pole connectors free to interested club members.

A vote to have a power pole party to upgrade the clubs equip. was accepted by Dan (N9NCU) second by

Jerry ( KC9JNL ). Those interested should contact Dan (N9NCU)

The July 2007 meeting minutes as e-mailed & posted on web site were accepted by motion from John ( NZ9Z ) and second by Jerry ( KC9JNL ).

Dan (N9NCU) gave the treasury report - a motion to accept from Theresa (KB9KXE) second by Hub (W9OUT).

Vice President Travis ( KB9YRC ) reminded the members that the club wishes to get a vintage station area up and running and tubes are needed to get them working.

Some of these rigs are Manitowoc-made Lakeshore Industries transmitters and amplifiers.

John ( NZ9Z ) gave a brief talk on the older radio’s and mentioned that Tom Aschenbrenner ( WA9EXS ) who has been working on the Cobia’s radio gear and said Tom is very excited about the prospect of seeing our gear up and running again.  Anyone with the needed tubes should contact Fred ( W6BSF ).

Vice President Travis ( KB9YRC ) brought to the Clubs attention that Walt ( K9WL ) has graciously enough to allow us to post our W9DK Website through his web posting service that he has personally paid for.

The board had a discussion to not only take the burden off of any one individual but to have the ability to be able to add several numerous items to our website.

After checking on a few different sites it was determined that the cost to the club for switching to its own website would be from $ 4.oo to $ 7.oo a month.

After a lively discussion ~ this issue was tabled until pending technicalities could be resolved and research done on all avenues of purpose and use of items to be added to Website.

Dan (N9NCU) gave the ARES/RACES report and talked about:

  • John ( NZ9Z ) stated that he and Fred ( W6BSF ) tested the Rotors used for Field Day to see if they can be fixed

( contacts cleaned etc. ) to avoid sending them out for repairs. It seems that it may be a diode so they were sent
